Double Page Spread

My double page spread feature (doubled). What I did first was think what colour background I wanted and I thought that black would look nice. Because the colours I was going to use looked good with the black background. Next I placed the interview in, I read the interview again and this way it made me think what quotes to put over pictures I was going to use. Like in magazines where you see a quote from the artist larger and towards the side. After thinking what ones to use. I then cropped some images and placed some others onto the double page spread, I also had to look for a font that was easy to read for others. The language that is used, was language that was actually from the artist i was using as he does do music, but is not famous. So I really didnt change any language, this benefited me because my artist was a rap/grime artist so his language was language you would actually hear that type of artist use such as slang words.
Time management of my coursework was reasonably ok. I wouldnt say it was brilliant, but then again I woudnt say it was poor. I did spend a lot of time on my front cover but to be honest that was the thing that had to stand out the most and take a lot of work on. Because I got used to photoshop quick, my contents page and double page spread looked really good, but did not take as long as the front cover did. Infact I doubled the double page spread because my interview didnt fit on one double page spread feature. A way my time management could of been better was if I did more work out of school, because really I was only doing the work in school rather than out of school untill towards the end when I realised i needed to do more than what I thought.
Technology Used
The first thing I had to get used to was the apple mac computers at school. This was extremly frustrating at first, because they are so different to a usual windows computer I normally use. Whilst I had a week or so to get used to the macs, I started using a program called photoshop. This program was confusing at first, I didnt really understand how it worked because I had never used it before. I had to get used to it because this was the technology I was mainly going to be using. Another form of technology used was of course a camera, because I had to use this to capture my pictures, but that was very straight foward and I experienced no problems at all. The one thing I would say was hard with technology was...not being used to it and finding it difficult, as this makes the working place slower.

The genre for my magazine is rap/grime. I used some of my mates to be put on the front cover because one of them is a grime musician. I wanted to strongly make my front cover fit in with the genre of my magazine so planning was strongly used, such as what the position of the person and where to take the image. I didnt want people to get the wrong idea on what my magazine genre was like. I didnt want some person with a guitar in hand wearing dark clothes on a rap/grime magazine. So i must admit planning was used affectively to make the magazine look as good as it does. I used a mixture of light and dark colours, not just light otherwise it would look like a kid magazine. Not dark colours otherwise it would look like a rock magazine. It took a little while to get used to usin photoshop on the emacs, but after a week i finally got the hand of it. The layout of my magazine is very well. Not to squished in, but not to spaced out with space to waste!

I eventually finished my front cover, contents page and my double page spread. However my interview didnt fit on the original double page size, so the result was i doubled thedouble page spread in order for it to fit. I found that in the end, the front cover was a task that did take a bit of time to complete. Personally i found the double page spread quite an easy goin task to do i did that in one day. I worked hard on them overall because i wanted to make the final result as professional as i could do, so it would look like a real front cover that you see in stores. The contents page went quite smooth so i was happy with the result of that
